Ning Ashoona is best known as a Master carver of swans, geese and loons.
Her gentle, graceful birds are adored by my clients.
But occasionally she gives us a small Dancing or Walking bear.
Dreamer is a dramatic Walking bear who is taking a moment to lie on the ground, perhaps to rest or take stock of his surroundings.
And like her peaceful birds, Ashoona's Dreamer is tranquil.
I love how Ning has carved Dreamer's arms and legs like melted wax pooling on the ground and merging into the earth.
The effect is peaceful and serene.
Dreamer's jet black stone is stunning.
The mirror finish is the crowning glory of this winsome young bear.
