Magnificent Carving!  Museum quality Sculpture!

Jonasie Faber is a Master Inuit carver from Greenland who now resides in Canada.

He moved to Denmark when he was ten and became a Deep Sea Navigator at the Danish Naval Academy. He moved to Canada at the age of thirty  and intially imported Inuit art from Greenland.

Unlike many of our Canadian Inuit artists, Jonasie has travelled widely but still carves in a fashion that reflects his Inuit culture.

His carvings are meticulously detailed with a primitive but sophisticated style. Stalking bears and muskox are two of his preferred subjects.

This is a unique and beautiful arrangement of muskox forming a circle. They take this position to defend the herd when they are threatened.

The light green coloured stone with warm brown high lights is refreshing and spirited.

The terse lines, the unique persona of the muskoxen and the beautifully coloured stone make this Muskox Circle a timeless piece.

It is a piece that will stand the test of time and make its way into the archives of Inuit art.

In short, this is a Museum piece.

Jonasie is famous on an international scale.

His carvings have been sold by Sothebys and Waddingtons and New York’s large auction houses.

This is a rare opportunity to acquire this special carving for your collection.
